Information about the OPA Membership Committee

The Oregon Psychological Association (OPA) Membership Committee is composed of the OPA Secretary (OPA Membership Chair), student committee representatives, and general OPA members who show interest in involvement. We extend an invitation to members who want to be a part of inclusive membership communities, and are willing to attend and participate in our meetings and activities. We set intentions to recruit diverse groups of licensed psychologists, students, and psychologist trainees. For information on how to join the Membership Committee please email [email protected].

Committee meetings are currently held on a virtual platform and can be accessed via video-conference. Meetings are generally held in the evening during the week before the quarterly OPA Board of Directors meeting. Our meetings provide an opportunity for psychologists and trainees to connect, while also supporting OPA membership projects such as member socials, student engagement, membership drives and programs.

Mission Statement & Goals:

The membership committee centers its values around community engagement, empowerment, and sustainability of OPA members with the purpose of supporting current members and broadening our membership reach.

  • To foster connection between members of the OPA student committee and the larger voting body.
  • To facilitate partnerships between external organizations and the Oregon Psychological Association to increase membership accessibility and diversity.
  • To provide opportunities for member networking and community building.
