Professional Member - Licensed
|
- For candidates who have received a doctoral degree based in part upon a psychological dissertation, or a doctoral degree based on other evidence of proficiency in psychological scholarship from a program primarily psychological in content and conferred by a graduate or professional school that is regionally accredited, or that has achieved such accreditation within five years of the year the doctoral degree was granted, or one of equivalent standing outside the United States, with an active license as a psychologist in the State of Oregon; or
- A master’s degree in psychology and an active license as a psychological associate in Oregon.
- Professional Members can vote and hold office.

Professional Member - Non-Licensed
|
- For candidates that have Fellow or Member status in the American Psychological Association; or
- Have received a doctoral degree based in part upon a psychological dissertation, or a doctoral degree based on other evidence of proficiency in psychological scholarship from a program primarily psychological in content and conferred by a graduate or professional school that is regionally accredited, or that has achieved such accreditation within five years of the year the doctoral degree was granted, or one of equivalent standing outside the United States.
- Professional Members can vote and hold office.

Life & Honorary Members
|
- A Professional Member qualifies for Life or Honorary Member status if he or she (1) qualifies as Life member of APA, (2) is 65 years of age or older and has been a Member of the Association for 25 continuous years, and/or is retired from the profession.
- A Professional Member qualifies for Honorary Member status if he or she (regardless of age or length of membership ) has been adjudged disabled and is neither employed nor able to be employed in the profession.
- Life & Honorary Members can vote and hold office.

Associate Member
|
- For candidates who have Associate status in the American Psychological Association; or
- A Master’s degree in psychology from a regionally accredited graduate or professional school plus a year of acceptable experience in professional work that is psychological in nature. Candidates for Associate Member status shall be engaged in professional or graduate work that is primarily psychological in nature.
- Associate Members cannot vote or hold office or committee chair positions.

Student Member
|
- For students actively enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in a graduate program of studies leading to a Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology or closely related field.
- Student Members cannot vote, but can hold office as specified in the OPA bylaws.

Out of State Affiliate
|
- An individual desiring Out of State Affiliation must be a member of the psychological association of the state or province in which they reside, and not be practicing in Oregon.
- Members of the OPA who neither reside nor work in the state at least 8 months of the fiscal year shall, if they so request, be granted inactive status for that year. Those members on inactive status shall pay dues at this reduced rate.
- Out of State Affiliate Members do not have voting rights, and cannot hold office or committee chair positions.

- For professionals who are licensed, registered or certified in their profession in the state of Oregon.
- Allied Professional Affiliate Members do not have voting rights, and cannot hold office or committee chair positions.

Corporate Affiliate

- For representatives of a firm or corporation engaged in providing products or services to the profession of psychology.
