Social Connections: Where it Thrives and Where it StrivesPresented by Jessica Stern, Ph.D.DATE: Friday, January 12th 2024 | 9:00 am until 1:00 pm PST4 hours Continuing Education Credit
Location: ONLINE This workshop will be capped at 95 participants
Workshop Overview: Society is currently posed against a state of crisis in the form of loneliness. Research has consistently shown that social connection is one of the key protective factors in psychological and physical health and longevity, yet individuals are reporting record levels of disconnection. The current landscape of a post-COVID world and a tech-heavy environment presents both challenges and opportunities for increased social connection, which could dramatically impact individuals’ wellness and functional success. This CE event will explore loneliness as a current crisis along with several theoretical and conceptual concepts that impact loneliness and friendship-making behaviors, along with practical approaches to increase social connection through a values-based lens. The event will include both seminar and interactive components to share information as well as integrate it into tangible approaches.
